The Fundamental Cost Of Leadership

Everything of value carries a cost. In fact value is a function of cost. How much you are willing to pay for something will determine how much you can get out of it. We have various categories of believers. And, how much you are willing to leave (forsake) will determine the category you belong to finally. Leadership is not an exception. Vehicles, houses are in categories, determined by how much you are ready to pay to get one. How much you are willing to pay will determine what category of leadership you belong to.
Every child of God is a potential leader, by redemption. You have been redeemed out of every tongue kindred, people and nation to reign (Rev. 5:9). However, leadership is not occupying a seat, it is accomplishing a task, it is not in the titles we wear, and it is in the values we add. To be called great does not guarantee greatness. It is one thing to play a game and quite another to be a star in it. But every player is a potential star.
But how much you are willing to invest in training, dedication, discipline and sacrifice will determine whether you become a star or not. Leadership is not talking the lead, it is taking the lead. Talk is cheap. Take the lead in your assignment or field, not just talk it.  Now, if we are all potential leaders, it is important to determine the price, we must pay to be effective leaders. Luke 14:28-30 it is vital to count the cost first. You have a towerly destiny in Christ, but there is a cost to it and that’s where many fail.
Many do not know the cost. Some know the cost but are not ready to pay the price. Greatness is not born, or thrust on you.   It is consciously worked out, just like you do not stumble into success. You can’t just wake up one morning and become an expert doctor. You train into it. Greatness is either achieved or it never comes to be Jeremiah 1:5 before God formed Jeremiah in the womb he had called and ordained him prophet. But does it stop there? Jer. 15:16 Jeremiah had to find the word and eat it in order to become what God called him to be. What about David? You say leadership was thrusted on him? No! The brothers came to town, but David was left behind caring for animals. His responsible lifestyle took him to the top. God’s eyes watched David defend animals from being destroyed. He knew David would take care of Israel, with such a heart. Matt. 20:20-23 Mary mother of Zebedee’s sons wished leadership for her sons. Jesus said he must drink of his cup and be baptized of his baptism. Greatness is not prayed for, it is paid for. There is a cup into it and a baptism into leadership.

The covenant of leadership.

What must you do for the leadership seed in you to grow, blossom and flourish? We call the covenant of leadership. Eccl 109:5-, There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceeddeth from the rules folly is set on great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. I have seen servants upon horses and princes walking as servants upon the earth. He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and who so breaketh a hedge, a serpent shall bite him the covenant of leadership. Read (Eccl. 10:10).

a)      Vision
This is a fundamental requirement of leadership knowing where you are going is called   the wisdom of direction. Until you identify your field, you have no future in leadership. Prov.29:18 Where there is no vision the people perish. Vision is the foundation upon which leadership is built. You discover your purpose and stay on with it. God has a plan for every one of us. Your journey of leadership begins with discovery of God’s plan for you. Once you do this and abide by it, you have secured your future. To miss vision is to lose value, and to be stripped of honor and dignity. Your future is in God’s plan not in your plan. Until your task on earth is defined, your leadership, your leadership will not find expression. Whatever comes to your mind, check it in line with God, so you don’t misinvest your energy. There are three ways to discover God’s plan for your life;

(i)           It may come to you as a heavenly vision, like Moses and the burning bush, Paul on his way to Damascus Acts 26: 19 or  1st May, 1981 (my encounter God)
(ii)          It can come to you by a burning passion like Nehemiah, check on your inside, you may have God’s plan inside.
(iii)       By discovery of the divine gifting God has given you. They may be pointers to your God-given plan. The gift can help define where you belong. So locate your field for the leadership potential in you to come alive.

(b) Wisdom
Eccl. 10: 15x The labor of the foolish weareth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city. He knows the city to go to, but he doesn’t know how to get there. Prov. 8:15 By me (wisdom) kings reign and princess decree justice. Even though you are destined to reign, wisdom is a requirement or ascending to the throne. Unfortunately many have mistaken common sense for wisdom. Wisdom is an intelligible application of acquired knowledge. Commonsense will beget common results, Matt 7:24-28 wisdom is acquired and applied sense, not common sense. Many are grounded today because they mistake commonsense for wisdom. The principal raw material for wisdom is knowledge. Covenant University is emerging as the leading university In Africa in 7 years! But before she was founded, I engaged in an exhaustive study of nine world class universities like Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford, Yales etc. How they started, their growth pace, how they developed their programs. Universities that were hundreds of years old. I needed an understanding of how these great universities had acquired their greatness, so as to lay out our administrative structure. That’s how wisdom is cultivated. Many people in Africa are weary because they have no value for wisdom. They mistake native intelligence for wisdom. God called me to ministry in an 18-hour long vision. But before I started off, I studied 39 selected biographies of great ministries. So when speaking as a full time minister, I was speaking with 39 borrowers senses which goes on to enhance the quality of our decision making. Am therefore not surprised where we area today. There are people in business who have not read even one book on the business they are doing in their life. Common-sense! Poor leadership in African politics is a result of having too many empty headed politicians, who don’t belong to any school of thought. There is no president in America who doesn’t belong to a particular school of thought in politics. There are ministers of the gospel who may not have read any book of ministry, or some even can’t define ministry. Careful acquisition of facts is what guarantees you a step into practical leadership. Don’t stop learning .Keep your mind young. Wisdom is a growing virtue. Luke 2:52 Jesus increased in wisdom, stature, favor with God and man. Prov 1:5 A wise man will hear, and increase learning, and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels. Wisdom shall attain unto wise counsels. Wisdom has unlimited capacity for growth. Never forget that wisdom    demands acquisition of knowledge and applying intelligibly. There is a common saying in the West; that if you want to hide anything from a black man, write it in a book. He may never find it! Anything you engage in without acquiring adequate knowledge and applying that knowledge you get ordinary results at best.

(c)     Discipline
Eccl. 10:16-17Woe to thee o land, when thy king is a child and thy princes eat in the morning. Blessed art thou, o land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength and not for drunkenness! This statement defines self-discipline. Every truly distinguished person must be highly-disciplined. 1 Cor 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient; all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 1 Cor. 9:24-27 Race runners are many, but the winner is only one. We keep our bodies under subjection. Discipline is operating as commanded. Not as convenient. Whatever demand your envisioned future   places on you, you subscribe to it.

(d)     Diligence
Prov 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; but the slothful shall be under tribute. You can get out of life more than what you are willing to put into it. Seed time and harvest not just about money, but also about investment consciousness. You need to invest time, energy and resources. Bill Gates labored to be where he is today. Prov. 22:29seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. Billy Graham is sold out to kingdom business only. He’s a world ruler in the gospel realm. The whole world gathered to bury his wife. A diligent man in his business. Therefore, it is impossible to reign without  vision, wisdom,   discipline and diligence. Those are four fundamental costs of leadership.

(e)   Sacrifice
That’s the capital price to pay, going all the way, Luke 12:49-50 I am come to send fire on the earth, and that will I, if it be already kindled? But if I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straightened till it be accomplished! Global impact places global demand. Stretch yourself! It is a baptism of sacrifice that births great leaders. This means putting your life on the line. David was not going for Goliath to get title but to stop the harassment of Israel by this giant, at the risk of being killed. Where you say, “I rather die than watch this shame”, is what sacrifice means. Moses didn’t fear going back to Egypt Israel free. Daniel didn’t fear being thrown into a den of lions. They fulfilled their leadership destinies by sacrifice. The altar of sacrifice is broken down in Africa, it must be repaired. You never have a star without a scar. The scar of every star is sacrifice. Matt 20:20-23 it takes the cup of wisdom and the baptism of sacrifice for great leaders to emerge. Your leadership potential will find expression on this platform. If it means crawling, get at it. I have brought enough funds to cater for everything including whatever needs to be paid here. Those that in the world to get don’t amount to much at the end, but those that are in the world to add don’t loose value. Great leaders both in the Bible and contemporary history are products of sacrifice. Abraham, Moses, Joseph, David, Daniel, Nehemiah are examples. Think of Esther, Ruth, Martin Luther King Jnr., and Nelson Mandela.  The sacrifice of such men gave birth to free nations today. The quality of your sacrifice determines the quality of your leadership rating. How much are you willing to give up in driving the plan of God for your life? Always on your assignment, doing beyond normal. We are all redeemed to reign, but not without a cost. Doing more than what others do, you will be a leader in your area of endeavor. There is nothing extraordinary without extra-ordinary investment. Africa has an army of men who don’t know where they are going don’t care to learn how to get there, and those who care to learn how to get there are not disciplined enough to apply themselves to their finding. Find out what will make a difference. I went on a search of three days into financial prosperity in 1982 and found the secret. I follow it. You cannot blame God for blessing me. I’ve never had any stress helping to see others smile; you can’t blame God for sending me favors. It is one thing to find the truth and quite another to line up with it. It takes self-discipline to do it. God told me spiritual impact is the best way to enter into supernatural supplies. The people you preach to must have heart to show for it or else you won’t have access to supernatural supplies. Labor in the word and doctrines, it takes plenty of discipline, fresh preparation for every meeting, fresh noted. You can’t wish leadership. You build yourself into it. The grace to commit yourself to the fundamental cost of leadership is released upon you today. Go and work hard, anointing is no substitute for hard work. You are either a worker today or a beggar tomorrow. Prov. 13:4 Too many non-working people abound in Africa today, some at 30, they are still in their parent’s homes! God blesses what you do. Doing nothing multiplied by one million equals nothing. You don’t have a future without a working hand. You drive 80 kilometers perimeter to cover Canaan land today. Why? A mind to work. If ministry is not work for you, you can’t have results. Many say I resigned work to go for full time ministry. That’s a misconception. You make a living by working 8 hours a day, but you can only make impact by working beyond 8 hours. Receive grace to actualize the leadership potentials embedded in you by applying yourself to the price involved. Peace!!!

I Will Restore Your Health

How to secure God’s intervention for restoration of your health.
Joy is a divine therapy for healthy living. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones… Proverbs 17:22. You need joy to be healed and ward off sickness hence a healthy life despite the present state we must embrace joy in our heart and jealousy safeguard it to enjoy sound health and vitality. Joy is a fundamental requirement for securing divine health. He will only intervene at the point of joy. Isaiah 58:11.
Joy is a free for all virtue that God has made available to every believer. It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit and you are entitled to it hence there should be no reason for being downcast. Read, Galatians 5:22. Many an offer to sin shall satan make the believer because he knows your being defiled is enemy to the Spirit birthing joy in you, hence an open door to sickness. As earlier stated we need to safe guard our heart that we may not lose the joy of salvation. David in: Psalms 51:12 cries thus: “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free Spirit”.
Secondly we secure our intervention via the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is referred to as the spirit of joy and gladness. The Holy Spirit is also the oil of gladness. The is always hope for a believer under sickness for as long as the spirit resides in him. He has the power; oil of joy and gladness resident in him hence is able to arise even if he fells seven times. Your situation in being turned around in Jesus name.
The revelation of the word of god also stimulates joy in our hearts. Stumbling upon revelation of the word of God powers one to joy. This is the provision of the Lord for you. Joy can be found in the revelation of the word of truth. Psalm 119:162. Every child of God carries divine or unspeakable joy.  Read, 1 Peter 1:8. Because joy is a facilitator of health every child of God is entitled to super health.
Having joy is having access to restoration of health….. For a merry heart doeth good like medicine. God can in no way mis-prescribe for. Every time God counsels on any matter especially on your health, be assured that it is both equal to and greater than that issue.  So when he speaks joy and gladness BE FULLY PERSUADED He indeed is spot on.
One of the characteristics of joy is that it provokes praise. Read, James 5:13. Praise is one of the most formidable avenues of bringing heaven on earth. Psalms 22:3, 2 Chronicles 5:13. Where praise is life is.
Knowing that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, we should deeply appreciate that when we praise Gog his Mighty power (glory) fills the house. As the glory fills us the forces of wickedness even sickness advice themselves away from the tabernacle of heaven…. On earth. Where God is sickness and sorrow have to flee. Read, Psalms 114:7. Despite being dead for four days Lazarus, Jesus found reason to thank God right there in front of a decomposing body. Joy is a requirement of for supernatural turnaround because it brings divine intervention. John 11:41-44. Complaining and murmuring worsens the matter. Maintain your joy and weep not. Stay blessed in Jesus name.

Foundation For Kingdom Wealth

This is our time of lifting where God rolls away shame and clothes you with glory. As you read, receive the word and believe it, I see you entering your realms of enviable, sweat free, sorrow free blessings, in Jesus precious name. See you at the top!

It is our time of lifting. Our time of lifting up is here. All that needs to be done is to dig into God’s word to unearth the secrets behind financial prosperity. It is the blessing of the lords that makes rich and is sorrow free. Having said this, let us examine briefly from scriptures, the foundation for kingdom prosperity or wealth.

A: (I) REVELATION

Job 22:21-25. Revelation is that process through which the written word moves from the Bible into your heart. Many have it in their bibles and note books but not in the heart. When it enters your inner man it becomes revelation. You cannot prosper outside before you prosper inside.

3 John 2. It is the entrance of the word that gives light or revelation. This is a heart, not head factor. Take the word, meditate on it, roll it again in your heart, and as it prospers in your heart, you prosper on the outside too. That’s revelation.

(II) CONSECRATION
Job 22:23. A return to the almighty is a start of being rebuilt. You must make a deliberate decision to put away sin from your dealings. As a businessman, career man, put away sin. If you call on God while a sinner, you cannot have effect. You must not be found in certain places, there are things you are not to touch, things you must not do, if you are to benefit from kingdom prosperity. This is a personal, conscious decision you take.

(III) THE LOVE OF GOD
It is our prayer that God will renew and rekindle the fire of love for him and for man. This is the whole essence of Christianity, and we need it. It is what we are living for. 1 Cor 2:9-. There are prepared things for God’s lovers. 2 Chron 16:9(2)

B: THREE ATTITUDES OF KINGDOM WEALTH
There are attitudes we must carry if we are to prosper in the Kingdom of God.

(1)             AGREE THAT KINGDOM PROSPERITY IS POSSIBLE
Kingdom wealth is real and possible is important to carry this mentality. No matter how long you fast or how often you give, if you don’t believe in the reality of the kingdom prosperity, you cannot enjoy it. You mind actually determines what your hand can handle. If it is not in your heart, it can never come to your hands. Prov 23:7 (a). You cannot rise above your belief system. When I discovered from God’s word that it is possible, my life changed forever. Psalm 112:1-3. Yes, we can. That is how Barrack Obama took over the highest office on earth. If you are blessed, you can’t lie, you can’t be tempted to change figures in your office. Riches have to do with having more than enough. When one car breaks down, another one is available. That is wealth. Every Christian must believe God to have at least one car.

(II) KINGDOM WEALTH IS BY CHOICE
“I call heaven an dearth to record this day  against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” Kingdom wealth is a matter of personal decision. I open my mouth everyday and choose wealth. I declare myself blessed. Wealth is so much in my system that I can’t keep quiet about it. It is a personal choice to stay blessed or cursed. I am blessed every day because I realize that choice with my mouth, just as it is written; Psalm 68. Make your choice too.

(III) KINGDOM WEALTH IS FOR THE OBEDIENT
There is what you must not eat, what you must not touch, if you do, you have chosen poverty. Read, Job 36:11. No devil can make them poor! No prayer, anointing or Holy communion can help you if you eat your tithe. It s obedience to heavenly principles that guarantees prosperity and violation of the same is a sure recipe for poverty. Read Isaiah 1:19. Isaac planted seeds and reaped a hundredfold. When people are sowing, don’t fold your hands, if you expect Kingdom wealth to come your way. Kenneth Copeland sowed a seed of his cloth buttons when an offering was called for. God saw his heart. Today he has given out twenty six aircraft.  ArchBishop Benson Idaahosa of blessed memory gave his wife! He pushed her to the altar saying “She’s my offering”. Poverty said bye bye to him. One man In Kampala took off his shoes and gave God. He got a job, a car and comfort. God sees the heart. Obedience is very crucial. God does not need your money, but you need him.

Four Pillars Of Success

Welcome to the month of July. God has spoken, that you belong to the top this month. Put it another way, you are a city set on a hill, for all to see. It is a realm of success you are entering into today. You will succeed, in Jesus’ name.

God has packaged success for you this month. As you succeed, you will understand that it is not your effort only that will put you on top. God’s factor, God’s grace and predestination are contributors too, besides your little effort. Divine backing is what makes people stand out as success stories. Remove God from your plans and everything will collapse. Why? He is the author of success. Success has pillars. In order to stand out as a success story, there must be some things backing you. These are the things we call pillars of success. What are they? Any fool can be a success if he cares to know how to.

VISION

Vision can be defined simply as seeing into the plan and purpose of God for your life. It means to see ahead. It is the fuel of success. No man can succeed, or leave the valley when he had a blind mind. When you can’t see, you can’t succeed. How far you go in life is determined by how far you can see. Darkness has covered this earth and gross darkness has compassed the people about and for you to escape it, you need gross light.  That can only be available by vision. How fast you move is a function of what you can see. Read Proverbs 28. If you see what belongs to you, you can’t be stopped from getting it. That’s why we define the year, the month, the week to release light into your eyes, to see where you belong.

The Power of Vision

When we read in Genesis 12:1-3, Abraham was a gallant failure by then; 75 years old in his father’s house, no children. He picked him from there, with the above appointment letter! If you see what is preached and put it into practice, this Abraham order of blessing becomes yours too. Why many stagnate is because they don’t care to practice what God says, but not so any more. You will see it the way you hear it from today, in Jesus’ name. Genesis 13:14, this verse means that you begin where you are, whether sick, indebted, frustrated etc, look!! If you don’t see what belongs to you, you can’t possess it. Your mind is your covenant eye; you use it to see where you are going. If you see it, and you are convinced that it is yours, God must give it to you. Men of success live and abide in their vision. The happiest men are those who live in their future because the past and the present are dented with errors. Build pictures in your mind of what you want to have in the next few years. That is vision.  Jeremiah 1:11: What you don’t see coming your way will never come. Many of us pray, but don’t take any steps at all. Nothing will fall like manna. You must begin by seeing. Vision commits God to perform. See it in the word, you will commit God to deliver it into your hands. Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart so is he …….You cannot rise above your thinking pattern. Think big, pray, take steps. Until you see where you are going, and know how to get there, you can die in perpetual misery. God forbid.

INFORMATION

Nothing renews the mind like heavenly news. And at the root of every transformation is information. To be uninformed is to be deformed. Your mind is the seat of information, the store house. E. W. Kenyon said, make your brain work, it will sweat and improve until you become a wonder to your generation. Information empowers the mind. Every extra information enlarges the capacity of your mind. The depth of information determines largely the greatness of your mind. Information is the food of the mind.  The more informed you are the more productive your mind becomes.

How do I access information?

The most effective avenue for information acquisition is reading.

2 Tim 2:15. The quality of information that finds its way into your mind determines the quality of your life and your mind. With formal school (training), you become a worker; with informal training (education) you become a leader, pace-setter. There is a big difference between schooling and education. Schooling is formal resulting in professions, but education makes you a leader. The problem with leadership in Africa is that we have leaders who are not informed at all, yet they want to lead. They don’t read any book to enlarge their minds. That’s the reason for mediocrity around. Anthony Robins read 700 books while in High School, became a consultant to the US army and IT companies. When you read you become a leader. Benjamin Franklin dropped at primary 2, yet he became America’s greatest philosopher and built a high class university. All this   by information. Books will reform you. What you want in life, search through books and the answers will come.

HARD WORK

Vision and information will produce your lifting only if you add to it hard work. Many people in the church don’t like working. God no longer rains manna from heaven. He has only promised to bless the work of our hands. Prov. 22:29.  Hard work means using a lot of physical or mental effort to make something succeed. You don’t become diligent because you are a hawker or engineer. The career you are in does not deliver hard work directly to you. You deliberately work on it yourself. Psalms 1:3. Many Christians complain of harassment by their bosses at work, but carefully examined, a discovery will show that they report late at work. If you are lazy man, no boss can treat you well. Hard work is what produces amazing results. Joseph was a hard worker in prison, how much more you, who are not a slave. Success is not a native of the west neither is failure a native of Africa. In the west they are blessed because they work hard, they mind what to do per time, but in Africa, we have grown-ups who don’t do anything at all to make life meaningful. There is no future in the kingdom of God for the lazy! You cannot be diligent and lack testimonies. A house that is not occupied however classic it will soon collapse. In the same way a Christian and believer whose body is not engaged in work will soon attract sickness. God forbid. God is a worker; right from Gen. 2:2-8, 2:15 God planted a garden. He is a hard worker. If this be so, as Christians we need to emulate him. Why are you the only one complaining that there are no jobs, while others are going to work? Be a worker, like our fathers in the faith, both in scriptures and contemporary life. How can you be 45 and not working? Work makes you look younger while laziness makes you grow old too fast. No matter how ugly it looks, does that work whole-heartedly; soon your name will become a household name. God has ordained you to be a pace-setter in your area of endeavor. Put your hands to work, hard work and you will get there in Jesus’ name.

Benefits of Hard Work

Hard work quickens your faith. James 2:14, 17. Put your faith to work because faith without works is dead. It takes work for your faith to produce.

Hard work provides an opportunity for you to accomplish your purpose in life. Until you take responsibility in your area by diligence, you cannot have dominion.

CHARACTER

To be at the top in life you need to add to vision, information and diligence, character. Character is what will sustain you at the top. If you have a shop and you decide that every day you must have a break of 2 hours to rest, very soon you will close. Everyone will know you lack character, and they’ll abandon your shop. Why should you close your shop early and open late?  In that office if it is only the coat that is present while you have gone out for hours, you are stealing the employer’s time. That denied you promotion. It is called lack of character. Are you employed in that saloon? Why report late and leave early? Will you keep that job? Mind character because it will sustain you. As a christian, you must be a hard worker, to maintain that top position. May God keep you at the top all your days in Jesus Name. Keep character, it will sustain you at the top. Embrace these pillars, soon you will become a household name in this land in Jesus Name.
